Grace Lightman's sparkling new song "Faultless" oozes charm and elegance
London-based artist Grace Lightman is sharing her second single "Faultless" on Best Fit.
Comparisons to Kate Bush are often lazy and miss the mark, but it's hard not to notice the similarities here. Lightman's dramatic croon careens between dizzying pop highs and svelte R&B depths, gliding above an ocean of synths and echoing guitars, creating a serving of melancholia that oozes charm and elegance.
The track is co-written and produced with Patrick James Pearson (San Felu, Liu Bei), and was recorded at his Devon studio. James Bragg (Gengahr, Saltwater Sun) is on mixing duties.
"Faultless" follows on from debut track "Vapour Trails", which caught the ears of Lauren Laverne, and is released as a single on 1 July. Lightman plays London's The Lexington (with BC Camplight) on 30 May, and the capital's Servant Jazz Quarters on 19 July.
