Listen: Glass Gang – Awake [Premiere]

We’re big admirers of a well-executed PR campaign, and New York City’s Glass Gang have nailed it better than anyone else this summer, leaking three of a series of four free-to-download singles and slowly revealing their image in the process.

‘Awake’ is the last of the bunch, premiering at Best Fit today, and takes the electronic nuances felt on ‘The Fall‘, forefronting them alongside yet more oozing guitar riffs and prickly programmed beats. Recorded and mixed by Alexander Almgren and mastered by Animal Collective, Deerhunter and Kanye engineer Joe Lambert, ‘Awake’ rounds off the collection with the bloodied gloss we’ve come to expect from one of this year’s hottest discoveries.
