“Give It All Up” sees RÉN flexing her creative muscles
Brooklyn’s Renée Orshan is back with hopeful new single “Give It All Up”.
The singer-songwriter offers up optimism and ultimately acceptance on the pulsing pop track.
“I love to create thought provoking tracks” RÉN explains over email, or “introspective jams” as she also refers to them. “Give It All Up” follows a string of singles, including “Into The Unknown”, which talks about the struggles of going it on your own and managing to be uplifting due to its upbeat production. The reason why RÉN’s music is like this is simple; she “[loves] when people dance to [her] music. Feeding off a dancing audience for a live show is the best.”
"Give It All Up" sees RÉN flexing her creative muscles, writing from a new perspective following a story she heard. “An incredibly talented/famous music artist decided he was going to throw his musical career away because he hated the "musician lifestyle".” “Give It All Up” is the from the perspective of that musician’s girlfriend. “Whether it's a job or a relationship, you can't force someone to do something they don't want to, and that sucks if it's the person you love.” This is something that really comes through, when you listen to the track knowing this story.
RÉN is closing the year with a show in New York supporting Brazilian Girls at Rough Trade on December 30th. With more new music promised in the new year and exciting visuals soon, RÉN continues to be one to watch.
