Smooth like velvet, Girlhood shine on second single "Say It"
Merging the worlds of modern pop, classic hip-hop and velvety smooth R&B, London-based duo Girlhood excel on latest release "Say It".
The follow-up to last year's debut "My Boy", new single "Say It" offers another look into the Girlhood world. If you're looking for forward-thinking, quirky, genre-bending music then look no further. With Christian on production duties and Tessa on vocals, the pair have been working on their music together on the narrowboat where Christian lives, floating around on the canals of London.
"Some of us pretend to be bulletproof, to keep smiling through the daily grind," the band explain. "'Say It' is an anthem for all of us to break free and celebrate the wonder of human hearts and minds. Nothing's too precious: it's all choices.” Despite drawing early comparisons to Nao, it's clear that Girlhood are very much in a league of their own with their effortlessly nostalgic, yet current sound.
