Gil The Kid's "In The Dark" is a shimmering electro-pop lullaby
Not long ago did we feature Gil The Kid's "Talking To Myself" as Song Of The Day. Today, we premiere the Washington, DC-based artist's latest offering, "In The Dark".
Featuring his signature melodically-inclined vocals atop slick, bubbling production, "In The Dark" explores the idea that Gil in fact feels "safest and happiest" at night in the dark. "There's something romantic and adventurous about the night," explains Gil, "as it's the time to go to parties or meet up with that guy or girl we've been crushing on".
There's a sense of endlessness in all of this darkened romance and adventure Gil speaks of, and that's exactly what "In The Dark" manifests in a transcendental nature.
Along with "Talking To Myself", "In The Dark" hails from Gil The Kid's forthcoming EP, set for release sometime in February.
Gil will perform with Misun at their 27 January show with Sofar Sounds in Washington, DC.
