Listen to “Ghost”, the new track from Jose Gonzales labelmates Parekh & Singh
“I love you way more than you know,” is the plaintive refrain to “Ghost”, Indian duo Parekh & Singh’s newest single.
Hailing from Kolkata, the pair have recently signed to Peace Frog Records, home of such familiar names as Little Dragon and Jose Gonzales.
The duo, composed of Nischay Parekh and Jivraj Singh, look like they have stepped right out of a Wes Anderson movie, and their dreamy folk-pop would make the perfect soundtrack to their cinematic misadventures. “Ghost” is a delicate, jazz-infused cut from their debut LP Ocean, featuring jangly keys and a meandering bassline that build to a heady climax beneath Parekh’s distinctive falsetto.
“Ghost is about disappearing more than anything else,” Parekh explains of the track’s subject matter. “The part of life that remains unseen and unfelt is a mysterious and interesting subject to explore. While writing this song I thought about what it would be like to be totally invisible and still wanting things that were real and tangible, the things we don't see still exist.”
