We're not entirely sure who GANGLY are but they win the 'Best Song Title By An Unknown Band' Award
Listening to the debut from GANGLY recalls the same pleasant punch in the head you got the first time you heard Twigs or even JJ.
We don't know who they are but there's a subversive Nordic spin on lush heavyweight bass and sensual pulsing RNB that sounds like Sigur Ros doing witch house if you squint yr ears. Or maybe JJ doing Tyler. It could even be Yeasayer with the BPM slowed down and a couple of lush vocals (and one of them is a dead ringer for Jófríður from Samaris).
Their soundcloud says they're from Iceland (and the video was premiered by our friends over at The Grapevine in Reykjavík) but the track came to us as a link with no context and not even a hello on the email.
Maybe we can forgiven them; this is some brutally lovely stuff. Listen to ""Why Don't You Fuck With Someone Else" above.
