Scandi-pop newbies FYEO release terrific debut "I Wanna Dance (Like You)"
Late last year, the Scandinavian duo FYEO posted nothing but a mysterious invitation to “stay tuned for more” on their socials and then remained silent without revealing as much as their names.
Fortunately, they have come out of hiding and just released their outstanding debut single that acts as a perfect introduction as to what they are about.
"I Wanna Dance (Like You)" is an ethereal, stripped-back snippet of warming pop that makes you want to put on your best dress and forget your troubles.
Its interweaving atmospheric landscapes and inner romance jump out and tug on your heartstrings with lines such as “I let the Northern Lights lead the way / and I slowly removed your hands and said what was on my mind...”. The confessional innocence is only heightened by the tingling sweetness of the accompanying video that plays on the nostalgia of childhood friendships.
As far as debuts go, this is a strong start and hopefully it won't be too long before we hear more about FYEO as they continue to reveal their perfectly honed pop to the world.
