Frøkedal outlines new album and reveals stunning new song "I Don't Care"
The Norwegian artist has returned with a luscious melodic statement that sees her ambivalently move on from the past and eventually come out celebratory.
With "I Don't Care", Frøkedal explores the deep-seated confusion and the mixed emotions that comes after a passionate relationship comes to an end, defiantly stating "I don't even care anymore" at the opening but also admitting that she'll still be "broken to bits". The tussle of emotion comes to life through the swirling guitar that keeps popping up in a fight against the folky melodies and stubborn lyrics, the ultimate result of which is nothing short of wonderful.
"'I Don't Care' contains an energy that I specifically wanted to be present on the new LP" explains Frøkedal, "Unfiltered, impulsive thoughts and actions fuelled by everything from fear, love and deep passion - to red hot anger. It seems to represent the whole spectrum. It's an ambivalent, slightly over the top effort to close the door to the past."
The song is the first to be released from the much anticipated second album entitled How We Made It which is due for release this August and gives a perfect taster of what is to come.
