London’s Frank Gamble tease debut album with disco-inspired “Magic”
Hannah Yadi and Justin Tailor (aka Hoost) are Frank Gamble and they’re coming out of hibernation.
Yadi and Tailor have been channeling their creative energies into this project, among others, since they emerged with anonymous debut “Myths”. Their glitchy, alternative pop meets R&B is it’s best on driving tracks like “Something’s Wrong” and “Heart Speaks”. “Magic” is the first taste of the pair’s forthcoming debut album Forgive and Forget and it's a little different.
It combines their full, flickering sound with an upbeat and overtly cheerful disco throwback. The track is about breaking down the illusions of love, taking a step back into the real world and letting yourself have fun again. The hook says it all "if love is Magic, I’ve been fooled too many times, let’s take the magic, we can leave the love aside, no getting over in over our heads, all my beginnings have ends, let’s take the magic."
The full length record is due out later this year via AWAL and will see the pair continue to exploration their musical influences and reference points, only this time with more depth than ever before.
