Listen: Francesca Belmonte - "Lying On The Moon (ft. Tricky)"
London-based noir-popster Francesca Belmonte has made a name for herself appearing on legendary trip-hop progenitor Tricky's material in recent years.
Unsurprisingly, given their history, Belmonte has signed to Tricky's False Idols label for her debut LP release, and the man himself appears in a cameo on this latest track.
Where lead single "Stole" committed to the smoky, shadowy alleyway creeps one would expect from a Tricky protege, "Lying On The Moon" flips script as a skittering frenzy, Belmonte tempering the tizzy with her measured, breathy vocals.
Tricky, notorious collaborator that he is, offered glowing words for "Lying On The Moon":
"Of all the artists I've ever worked with this is the best collaboration, as soon as people hear this album they'll understand why I say this".
Belmonte's debut LP, Anima, is due later this spring courtesy of False Idols.
