Stream Forrest's super-smooth Shiny Suit Man EP
Last we heard from Forrest, he was putting his own spin on the disco classic, ‘Love Don’t Live Here Anymore‘. Now the Canadian transplant is back on our speakers with the Shiny Suit Man EP, out 24 September via Midnight Visions, and premiering exclusively here at Best Fit.
Pulling the listener in with an unrelenting bassline, the EP rides smoothly through each track and is bookmarked by the titular number and its shades-of-garage remix from Bodhi. Not Justin Timberlake’s suit and tie, ‘Shiny Suit Man’ matches a killer drum and snare line with a monotone vocal delivery – with one fabulous exception - that cuts deep and to the point: get the record straight, for the rest of these twenty-two minutes, we’ll be talking about Forrest.
Sampling female vocals, again of the spoken word variety, for subsequent tracks ‘My Factory’ and ‘Beverly Hills’, the vocals take the lyrical gist further into the seedy underground while Forrest’s beats create a sleek and smokey sonic backdrop.
Hypnotic and well-mixed, Shiny Suit Man is the kind of uncomplicated house that calls for a quality sound system and repeat listens. We’ve got the stream, but the rest is on you.
