For sheer audacity, this Memory Tapes remix of Fixers‘ ‘Crystals’ gets top marks. One minute it’s South East Asian pop song, the next it’s brilliantly overblown synth-rock anthem. All the way through, the vocal refrain sounds like it has been shoved on top of another track without having been key-matched first. And it is absolutely fantastic fun.
‘Crystals’ is the lead track from Fixers’ forthcoming debut EP – which is called Here Comes 2001 So Let’s All Head For The Sun. Obviously.
