First taster from new Regina LP: 'Jos Et Sä Soita'
Signed to Friendly Fire over in the States, Helsinki based trio Regina remain fairly unknown here in the UK. Hopefully that’s soon to change come the release of the bands fourth full-length, due out later this year. The first taster comes in the shape of the perfect three minutes that make up the dream-like ‘Jos Et Sä Soita’. Soaring skywards with total abandonment yet simultaneously coming over all shy and coy, it’s an absolute delight. Stream / download the track below alongside a remix of 2010′s ‘Saanko jäädä yöksi?’ – given an unlikely makeover by Scottish titans Mogwai.
As a footnote, it’s worth pointing out that Regina’s main songwriter/producer Mikko Pykäri makes up one half of current TLOBF favourites Shine 2009 who release their debut album Realism via Cascine on May 3. Head over here to listen to their recent collaboration with early 90s icon Paula Abdul.
