Funk propelled bass lines and swirling, hazy vocal hooks, Athenian duo Fever Kids’ “Holding Grass” is an immediately addictive dose of dream pop.
It’s not the dream pop of American high-school dances though, it’s cut from a slicker self-produced cloth – driven by minimal disco beats and an almost sinister sense of urgency. The boy/girl pair known only as Σtella and Alex have been writing together since 2011 but when your first official release sounds this good, the wait has obviously been worth it.
A 7” vinyl single including “Holding Grass” and B side “Peter, Debbie, Mary” is out now via Inner Ear. Buy from Bandcamp here.
