Feng Suave come of age in “I’m Warping Here”
Taken from their forthcoming EP Warping Youth, Dutch duo Feng Suave deliver a dose of summer in new single “I’m Warping Here”.
To kick off their forthcoming EP Warping Youth, Feng Suave warm us up with an introspective track that definitely fuels emotion. Following their recent release “Maybe Another Time”, new single “I’m Warping Here” takes listeners on an high-octane, otherworldly journey, driving through elated experiences of youth, adolescence and those heavy realisations that come with age.
This happy-go-lucky trip through euphoria craftily charms with childhood memories, before bringing listeners back down by serving up a harsh reminder of adulthood and rued opportunities. Flexing between psych-pop and scattered blues that ooze with soul, the Dutch outfit exude effortlessness. You can really hear the wide-ranging global and decade-jumping influences in their music, from Bill Withers to Tame Impala.
It is also little surprise that, after the release of their 2017 debut self-titled bedroom-produced EP, they have already amassed a huge online presence with over 70 million streams from fans all across the world, bringing a sound that would skilfully slip into 70s L.A or modern day Sydney. Contrary to their professions, Feng Suave most certainly do not seem devoid of direction.
“We aimed at distancing ourselves from the contemporary 'bedroom' sound of our first releases and tried to stay true to the music we like, listen to and admire the most; more organic-sounding, classic songs,” share Feng Suave of their forthcoming EP. “Thematically, the songs are about coming of age and the directionless wandering through adolescence that comes with it.”
