Feelium get you ready for summer with lighthearted and buoyant new track "Go Go Soul"
Swedish indie-pop duo Feelium is made up of Simon Folger on vocals and songwriting, and Jakob Stenseke as multi-instrumentalist and producer.
Their new single "Go Go Soul" was written and conceived while Folger and Stenseke were thousands of miles apart, and the end product - a gliding pop song - begs you “just don’t look back, it is going to slow you down”. With drifting and responsive harmonies paralleling Simon’s vocals, the song keeps its upbeat note, even with more somber lyrics. "Go Go Soul" feels like a spring clean - light and airy, but with just enough self reflection to remember the year past.
Folger opens the song with “I’ve been a bad friend” and the equally reflective “its been a tough year”, but goes onward with optimism - “with time, we will be fine”. The song’s pounding piano, major chords, and a grooving, chunky bass line leave no doubt everything will be okay.
Feelium’s music is a mash-up of genres; pop at heart, while refusing to be pigeonholed. Homogeneity is not something to be found on a Feelium record, nor is drawing inside the lines. With each release from Feelium taking on such an unique sound keep an eye out for what the band has in store for us next.
