Feel Freeze release “Wet My Tongue” to soundtrack your dystopian dreams
“Wet My Tongue” is the upcoming release from freshly-signed Danish duo Feel Freeze. The track sees them work with Depeche Mode producer Peter Iverson on a unique sound that could be filed alongside pioneers such as The Knife and The xx.
Forty seconds into the track's acoustic opening, burbling electronics begin to herald the track’s spine-tingling depths. Plucked guitars and delicate vocal harmonies suddenly give way to echoing percussion and ominous synths - reminiscent of the soundtrack to Netflix smash hit Stranger Things.
“Wet My Tongue was written on a cold winter evening, where snow and frost kept everyone inside and apart,” the band explain of how the track came to be.
“The easiest way to communicate with others was through computers and social media. We came to think of the online society; when we sit there, not meeting each other IRL, we start creating images of each others lives based on the way we see them on screens. It gave us an empty feeling of cyber-loneliness. A feeling that we wanted to transform into music and a cry for real life human connection.”
