Norway’s Farao has provided some of the most beautiful folk-pop out of Scandinavia this year.
The project of now London based songwriter Kari Jahnsen, Farao has grown in stature and confidence since January’s delicately poised ‘Forces‘, leading to ‘Tell A Lie’, the first track off her upcoming debut EP.
A heavy-hearted paean to the damaging effect that lying has on a relationship, ‘Tell A Lie’ is compounded by a muted guitar figure poking through the frosty atmospherics; Jahnsen’s translucent caw, wheezing synths and tolling percussion.
‘Tell A Lie’ is out on 4 November with the Farao EP out early next year.
