FADE shares nocturnal synth pop anthem “Fall in Love”
The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and producer Marley Ferguson, FADE is a project propelled by radiant synthesis and colourful lyricisms.
Marley Ferguson, architect of PARTS and now FADE, makes hushed and immediate bedroom pop with a twist. Hypnotic, melancholic, full of anxiety and urgency, her first offering through the FADE moniker, a track called “Fall in Love” is full of nostalgic sounds that vividly conjure up feelings of intimacy and longing.
The song is “a playful warning against falling in love,” Ferguson says, adding, “I started writing it as a note to myself to stop getting held down by romantic relationships, but over time it morphed into an anthem for an era where young women are choosing to invest in themselves over romance.”
Signed to Gorilla vs. Bear and Fat Possum joint venture Luminelle alongside the likes of Helena Deland and Munya, FADE is at the forefront of an exciting new label roster. With an EP out later this year there is much to look forward to.
