[Exclusive] Watch: Dark Captain – Submarines (Acoustic session)
Dark Captain may sound familiar to TLOBF readers in the same way as you’d know who I was talking about if I just said “Godspeed”. The London-based five-piece formerly took the more elongated name Dark Captain Light Captain, but decided to drop off a few syllables to save us all a few more seconds every time we talk or type about them. Because this is the modern world now, you know, everybody has coffee to go and meals while walking. Eeesh.
So with a few more breaths in our lungs, we present you the band continuing their minimalist mood. Above is a wonderful acoustic session of new track ‘Submarines’, filmed by Shoreditch’s LOAF TV and exclusive to TLOBF.
It’s a more stripped down affair than we’re used to, with the band reduced to four and donning the acoustics. Also there’s some quaint toy aeroplanes dangling from the ceiling, kind of confusing the nautical theme a little though.
‘Submarine’ is the band’s new single, taken from forthcoming album Dead Legs & Alibis (out 17 October). The studio version can be streamed via the handy widget below:
