Exclusive Album Stream: Caged Animals – Eat Their Own
Sometimes, every now and again, a band comes along that sends musos into a frantic search for words of how to perfectly describe just how good they are. Brooklyn band Caged Animals, who fuse psych-rock, hip-hop and shoegazing elements, are of this kind of ilk.
The group have been thus far labelled as “a hip-hop-influenced Velvet Underground”, their music has been described as “a self-loathing snapshot of midnight” and they have even been suggested to soundtrack any possible remake of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (which one day will inevitably happen, so fingers crossed for the band).
Truth is, when things are good – and on Eat Their Own things are very good – it’s better just to listen. Luckily enough, we’ve been given a bit of a buy-out clause of not having to add any words of our own to the mix. Instead, we bring you a stream of their brilliant new LP, released next Monday.
So enough talk, take a listen to the entire album streaming below – exclusive to The Line Of Best Fit.
Eat Their Own is released 26 September on Lucky Number Records. Pre-order the album here.
The group play their UK debut at London’s Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on 27 September, in a titillating bill that includes support from some other favourites of ours, fellow Brooklyn band Friends. Tickets can be found here. They play the Shacklewell Arms the very next day.
