Californian Emma Dewing delivers drama and pop strut on new single "Buttons"
Part model, part ballerina, part pop star? Emma Dewing's new single might just be the song which forces her to focus completely on the latter.
Dewing's been releasing music for a couple of years now but "Buttons" sees her team up with producer Ely Rise (who has written and produced for Justin Bieber, Mike Posner and Dreezy) to create a theatrical pop banger.
Mixing classical piano flourishes with diva vocals in the verses and switching things up with thumping beats and an infectious melody inthe chorus, Dewing is the star of the show throughout. With a striking and colourful visual aesthetic already in place, the Californian is matching it with a technicolour sonic palette which feels like it can go anywhere.
Of the track, Dewing tells us it's about "the push and pull of a relationship...how someone will drive you crazy, but you stay anyways cause there's just something about them..."
