Viral chart-topper Ella Vos delivers on third single “Down In Flames”
Following on from the success of 2016’s “White Noise” and “Little Brother”, “Down In Flames” is another slice of low-key pop goodness from LA-based newcomer Ella Vos.
Since premiering with us in early November, “Little Brother” has garnered over a million plays on Spotify. With its similar lilting gait and meticulous vocals, “Down In Flames” looks set to follow in its footsteps.
Where Vos’ previous singles tackled clear topics - post-natal depression and her brother’s near-death experience - she explains that the meaning of “Down In Flames” is rather more ambiguous. “I couldn’t tell you what this song was about,” she admits. “It’s like our words refuse to work like they used to. We hide ourselves in routine during the week, but every weekend we hitchhike to hell. Maybe we don’t know what we’re doing. I refuse to give up because I bet everything on us. I always will.”
If that’s not enough to pique your interest, know that Vos’ debut topped both Hypemachine and Spotify’s Viral Charts. With the promise of plenty more to come in 2017, Vos is definitely one to keep an eye on.
