ella jane makes her FADER label debut with her captivating new single "bored&blind"
Now counting Clairo as a labelmate, pop star in waiting ella jane unveils the bright, bouncing pop of "bored&blind".
19-year-old singer/songwriter Ella Roth has been making waves in the pop underground with her intoxicating melodies and enticing metaphors. With viral hits under her belt, Roth's pop is built on traditional structures and a passion for storytelling.
Growing up playing the piano, alongside her twin brother, thanks to their jazz pianist father, Ella is even named after iconic jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. Music and words have always been a huge part of her life and combining these two loves proved to be inevitable.
Her fourth single to date, it comes after her debut "The City", which exploded on TikTok, and its even better follow-up "nothing else i could do", which was inspired by characters from The Great Gatsby. Roth's career is taking off, but as you can tell from the self-shot dorm room music video she's still balancing her growing success with her college life as a prospective English major.
Capturing the feeling of a moment her 16-year-old self faced, in an Instagram post celebrating the release of the track she explains "I wrote this song late in the summer of 2018 when I was 16 pushing 17, but I never could have imagined it would turn into something quite like this."
