
Elisa’s “You Can Wear The Mink” is surreal, 80s-influenced pop gold
With its melodramatically staged video and nostalgic throb of synths, “You Can Wear The Mink” is the soulful new single from Elisa.
With a voice that draws parallels with Kate Bush’s more delicate moments, Elisa delivers an understated chorus bookended by 80s-inspired electronics. Drama and peculiarities abound, making this track at once slightly surreal and addictively listenable.
“‘You Can Wear The Mink’ is a song about surrendering to love,” Elisa explains. “The visual, filmed in a space that feels deliberately staged and somewhat removed from reality, is a reflection on the pursuit of fantasy and the safety that comes with pretending.”
The new track is taken from Elisa’s upcoming EP, Morning Again.
