Listen: Electric Litany – “Feather of Ecstasy”
-
A snapshot of their upcoming second album, Anglo-Greek lo-fi rockers Electric Litany deliver an entrancing opportunity to delve into their dark and sinister world on new track, “Feather of Ecstasy”.
Opening with the defiant declaration from Allen Ginsberg’s Death to Van Gogh (“I have the moan of doves and the feather of ecstasy”) it’s clear from the beginning that this four-piece are no peddlers of teen-pop nursery rhymes. Electric Litany utilise melancholic yet catchy guitar hooks, soaring synth riffs and what can only be described as Morrissey’s long lost European twin, to create a canvas of orchestral indie krautrock that builds to a precipice before collapsing in on itself, only to climb once again to a thrilling climax.
Sophomore effort, Enduring Days You Will Overcome, will be released on 10 March on Inner Ear Records.
