Step into Elderbrook's electronic trance where habits die hard on new offering "Old Friend"
“Old Friend” is a tasteful concoction of electronic music blended with left-of-centre pop that is individual yet still recognisable.
Having known international success after a collaboration with Camel Phat led to Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations with track “Cola”, British singer/songwriter Elderbrook has had airplay from Annie Mac, Diplo and played support slots for acts including Bonobo and Jungle.
Elderbrook has released his new EP and title track “Old Friend”, a filthy mix of electronic music with tightly-crafted songwriting and rhythmic vocal melodies. Pushing and pulling the dynamic emotion in each section, the track is layered with vocals and creates a perfect introduction to the four tracks on the EP.
Commenting on the track, Elderbrook said, “”Old Friend” is a more upbeat song about seeing and being around people you used to know. The lyrics are about how when that happens, you get pulled back into old habits you thought you left behind.”
