Watch: Eastern Hollows – “Summer's Dead”
With their new single “Summer’s Dead”, Brooklyn-based shoegaze band Eastern Hollows emerge from the dream-like shadowspace evoked by the Best Fit premiere of “The Way You’ve Gone” in February.
This fresh track finds Eastern Hollows expanding their sonic palette with bright, reverb-drenched guitar work, uptempo drums and a swirl of warm, lush vocals. Directed by Julian Kauffmann, the surreal video features the band playing on an NYC rooftop while a trail of roses strewn along the city streets provides a colorful and unexpected backdrop. Summer might be dead in the realm of this song, but it looks and sounds like spring is in full bloom.
“Summer’s Dead” is slated for a 7” vinyl release on 5 May via Club AC30. The London-based label will also release the band’s self-titled LP on 19 May.
