Drift away with Day Wave's new single "Gone"
Announcing the release of second EP Hard To Read, Jackson Phillips - better known as Day Wave - has shared dazzling new single "Gone".
Right from the chiming introduction the track yearns for something brighter and better. Sun-kissed and lamenting in euphoria, "Gone" harkens back to breezier and more blissful times. Phillips might be craving what he's lost, but as the sentiment echoes alongside scorching guitars and bubblingly refreshing refrains, it's hard to want for anything more.
Recording directly to tape, Jackson Phillips weaves his resonating emotion over escapist melodies. With an air of nostalgia, Day Wave crafts a potent daydream ripe to be explored.
Hard To Read is released via Fat Possum on 4 March as a digital download and as a physical package combined with last year's Headcase EP.
