Download: Ghost Beach – “Moon Over Japan”
Affiliated with the ever trustworthy tastemakers du jour Neon Gold, NYC duo Ghost Beach have spent much of 2013 dominating the charts of Hype Machine with their stratospheric brand of eighties flecked stadium pop.
“Moon Over Japan” was originally released with an accompanying video on YouTube back in the throws of summer, however, in keeping with the forthcoming holiday spirit the band’s new label Nettwerk are offering the track out as a free download – just as the Soundcloud stream approaches an impressive 100k plays.
Featuring a chorus that manages to reach the emotional highs of classic M83 without even breaking so much of a sweat, “Moon Over Japan” is the sound of a million John Hughes soundtracks colliding. In short, it’s utterly brilliant.
