Since posting the ridiculously infectious new single from Friends only last week, ‘I’m His Girl’ has gone on to become one of the most read posts we’ve published in 2011. The best things come in pairs and so it goes that we can reveal the b-side to said single, a cover of the 1996 Ghost Town DJs hit ‘My Boo’. A staple of the Brooklyn band’s live set, Friends’ version sheds the pulsating funk groove of ‘Im His Girl’ in favour of a soft focus disco sheen – yet it’s no less effective.
Limited to just 500 copies, Lucky Number release the 7″ vinyl of ‘Im His Girl’ b/w ‘My Boo’ on 31 October, we suggest you pre-order here.
The band will make their UK debut next Tuesday, September 27 at London’s Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen alongside label mates Caged Animals.
