Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci will surely be amongst the next batch of bands to slowly attain ‘legendary’ status. They split up in 2006, but their influence continues to spread to a new generation of acts investigating the possibilities of psych-tinged multi-instrumentalism.
We are very pleased, then, to give away an exclusive EP today from Gorky’s founder Richard James. These beautiful three tracks, all recorded in houses with the minimum of equipment, are positively bursting with melancholic warmth – thanks, in great part, to James’ extraordinarily beautiful voice. They are taken from James’ forthcoming Pictures In The Morning, a record that sees the artist turn away from the thick production of his previous solo work, in favour of simple representations of contemplative late-night solitude.
Pictures In The Morning is out 30 April on Gwymon Records. In the meantime you can download three tracks below.
