DOV drops melancholic electro-pop on shimmering new single “Be Your Lover”
Tel-Aviv born, Brooklyn-based queer pop-artist DOV (aka Dov Eagle) releases “Be Your Lover”, the second single from his forthcoming EP Be Your Lover.
Born as the son of a left-wing political activist in Israel, DOV moved to New York City to lead the expressive life he'd always dreamed of. Eagle is a multi-instrumentalist and producer who writes music that glistens with contrasting textures made through analog synthesisers and shimmers of sound.
“Be Your Lover” builds around the glitchy percussive movements he produces, set below emotively layered vocals that guide you along for the ride. DOV says of the track: "'Be Your Lover' is about unfulfilled love. I wrote the song about an experience I had meeting someone when I visited a different country, with whom I totally fell in love. The whole time, though, I felt like the distance, an ocean apart, would keep this love from becoming a reality.”
“It's about that strong feeling of losing something you never actually had,” Eagle continues, “that potential to meet someone, fall in love, then ask yourself if you should leave everything behind and take that leap to be with them."
