DORA seizes a new means of freedom through “Te Vas”
18-year-old DORA further finds her feet as a rebellious spirit as she anticipates the next chapter of her life in her latest anthemic single “Te Vas”.
On a quest to celebrate the end of a chapter as the future’s optimism begins to shine through, "Te Vas" is a slice of feel-good heaven; like your favourite ice cream on a hot summer’s day, it's three minutes of pure bliss that transcends any doubts in your mind. Staying true to her reputable, rebellious, and non-conforming flare, DORA’s genre-blending head bopper is a thrilling pass of time that’s enriched with an empowering punch as we step into the summer months.
“"Te Vas" is pure pre-summer hedonism. I just finished high school, passed all my exams and in 15 days I'm leaving with my two best friends to explore Europe,” DORA explains. “This is all real. They are the ones who appear in this wonderful video directed by artist Rafa Castells. This song is my way of celebrating, one cycle closes, and another begins, fireworks! But always with one foot in the shade, as I like. Produced by my homie Pional.”
Well known for seamlessly merging both the English and Spanish languages throughout her work, DORA’s catalogue isn’t short of variety. Having already graced the cover of Vogue España, the promising newcomer has made quite the entrance after being selected as one of the artists in Apple Music’s Up Next programme. Paving a lane that sonically draws from UK garage, indie-electronic and electro-pop, there is a youthful essence that blends with a pen game of someone who you may say is older than their years.
Housing a flamboyant and silky production reminiscent of a hazy night out with your friends on a late summer evening, “Te Vas” is a spark of positivity in a world of chaos and mayhem. Glossing her slick and polished vocals atop as they swim effortlessly through her angelic backing vocals and percussive beat, DORA submerges herself in a pool of freedom and happiness as she anticipates the next chapter of her life ahead.
As she follows up from the April release of her debut EP Sin Prisa No Quiero Morir, DORA broadens her horizon further with this let-loose single.
