Dizzy cast a moonlit spell with dazzling new song "Pretty Thing"
Nostalgic magic interweaves itself through the gentle waves of melodies that form the crux of Dizzy's latest offering, the simply mesmerising "Pretty Thing".
In many ways "Pretty Thing" continues where previous single "Swim" left off, seeped in memories and the expansiveness of their suburban upbringing, it finds beauty in the somewhat turbulent experience of high school.
It glides along dreamy riffs and has a sense of endless adventure about it, encapsulating that delightful feeling of perpetual possibility that comes with being young, free, getting your heart broken for the first time and having friends that help to lead you through the pain of it all.
"I wrote 'Pretty Thing' shortly after graduating high school. I think high school is traditionally remembered as a bad experience, and when I say mine wasn't it's usually met with an eyeroll," Explains lead singer Katie Munshaw of the track's beginnings "'Pretty Thing' was me saying, ‘No, this time of my life was beautifully heartbreaking, loving, and the friends I made have made me better. This is how I will remember them. This was a good thing.'"
