DEVON returns with the buoyant new single "BELONG 2 U”
Enlisting Spring King alumni Tarek Musa, rising pop sensation DEVON creates future nostalgia with bold outing “BELONG 2 U”.
Returning with his infectious indie-pop, DEVON hits all the senses with his new single "BELONG 2 U”. A combination of abrasive indie guitars and lush, sugary pop vocals, the single showcases the songwriter as a vivacious up-and-comer.
Hailing from the Forest of Dean and with pop stardom clearly running through his blood, DEVON’s latest single has been perfected for summer soundtracks. With highly energetic choruses and sing-a-long lyrics, "BELONG 2 U" is a fizzy pop starlet. Curating a sound that appears so familiar yet brand spanking new, DEVON is an artist for future nostalgia.
“'BELONG 2 U' is quite personal like most of my tunes. It’s quite a selfish way of doing things, but it’s the only way I can write anything that will stand the test of time," explains DEVON. "The song is written from someone else’s perspective looking in at me, switching it around and using phrases I hear from conversations I’ve had”.
Produced by DEVON himself along with Spring King’s Tarek Musa, the track enhances his memorable DIY sound and projects into the forefront of indie in 2020. “The song started with just a small drum loop and acoustic guitar, before fully producing it bringing in Tarek Musa,” he adds. "It’s always a fun process seeing your ideas coming back to you ten times bigger than expected. He’s very good at that.”
