Australian singer Dennis Dowlut has lent his smooth voice to a number of collaborations, but on this new single as Deutsch Duke he's proving to be a star all on his own.
"So Real" starts with a familiar snatch of classical music, but quickly gives way to Duke's stark and soulful voice.
As the track progresses there's vocal loops, constantly shifting electronics and an insistent beat which starts off at an ear-piercingly high register before settling into a trip hop groove. Nothing overpowers Duke's voice though, even though it feels barely there...gossamer-light yet surprisingly powerful.
"So Real" is out via new Australian label Risqué Music.
