Close up the Honky Tonks, Daniel Romano returns with a picture perfect slice of modern Country
Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Romano has revealed a new taster from the first of two new full lengths pencilled for release in 2015.
Following on from last month's honky-tonk bruiser "The One That Got Away", which (according to an interview with Rolling Stone) Romano can't even recall writing, "If I've Only One Time Askin'" is the title track from his new album, due out via New West on July 28. It's the first of two full lengths expected this year by the Ontario based crooner.
Much like 2013's Come Cry With Me, Romano's new material is steeped in country traditionalism and over the course of its 11-tracks offers "countrypolitan crooning, heartache and mid-century melodrama".
Get aquainted with "The One That Got Away" and brand new single, the outstanding "If I've Only One Time Askin'", below.
Daniel Romano and his band The Trilliums play a rare London date on June 10 at The Horatia as part of an extensive European tour. Check the full schedule here.
