Curtin, purveyors of delicately crafted, indie slacker-rock, have released the second track from their forthcoming LP called “Funeral”; a touch over five minutes of skittish drum loops and stark guitar lines, topped off with Jason Reuger’s sprawling, husky lead vocals.
Startlingly laid back, the influence of frequent collaborator, Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco), can be felt keenly throughout this odyssey of wild west rock ‘n’ roll. Jorgensen features on four of the tracks from Curtin’s upcoming record, One For The Doghearted, which is set for release this summer, and if the two released tracks, “Better Ride” and “Funeral”, are any hint of the tone of the album, expect more mellowed out, slow burning Texan lullabies akin to “Funeral”.
Curtin will be heading out on a fourteen-date US tour on 7 May. Details can be found here.
