We may have just been hit with storms more ferocious than a pair of caged tigers scrapping, but Bristol indie-kids Coasts have soothed the autumnal blues with a track smothered in a delectably sunny charm.
It’s got the kind of feel-good groove and summery synths that have proved so popular for Brummie boys Swim Deep, with an infectious stop-start rhythm. Everything’s got a radiant halo shining around it; jangly guitars meet vocal harmonies in the chorus, before giving way to a glimmering bridge. It sounds exactly like the band’s name suggests – like it’s been made on beach on a lush summer’s day, overlooking a cool British sea – and anything that harks back to times when it wasn’t so dark and drizzly, is brilliant by us.
