Chad Valley to reissue Equatorial Ultravox vinyl, unveils new tracks "Real Time" and "Your Love"
As one of the ever-excellent Cascine's most revered acts, Chad Valley grabbed chillwave (gently) by the scruff of the neck with his 2011 EP Equatorial Ultravox.
Six years on, Oxford's Hugo Manuel is reissuing the Best Fit Reccommended extended player with original material remastered, Cashmere Cat’s remix of "Shell Suite" plus two previously unreleased tracks, "Real Time" and "Your Love".
On "Real Time", Manuel's vocodered voice drifts over tropical pop rhythms which bounce and fizz with hope, while "Your Love" feels like the inverse. The vocals are smothered in effects, and the atmosphere subdued as slo-mo R&B beats fall around gorgeous sighed samples and sparkling synth touches. It's a timely reminder of what a superb act Chad Valley really is as he prepares to release his third album this autumn.
