Castorp channels classic pop on woozy new charmer "You're A Mystery" [Premiere]
The third Crossing Lines compilation from NX Records is on its way - hear a dazzling track from Castorp that features on the comp.
The label launched in 2013 as a collaboration between Matthew Herbert’s Accidental Records and Goldsmiths, and since then they've been digging up some of the finest sounds from South East London.
As well as tracks from Semi Precious, Tweed & Hyenas, and Edward A Guy, this new compilation features a tune by Castorp.
Castorp - aka Steffan Davies - is dreamy pop craftsman, a bit like a less goofy Mac DeMarco, and "You're A Mystery" is an eyes-closed, wide-smile, woozy doozy with shimmering pop axes and scratchy drums. Full of classic-sounding melodies and modern experiments, it's a perfect blend of old and new.
Crossing Lines III is released on the 20 November.
