Watch: Cash+David - "Pulse" [Premiere]
Mysterious synth-pop duo Cash+David astounded us with their debut track “Funn” back in February but their veiled identity was no problem; they were soon topping Hype Machine charts and circulating the blogs. Second single, “Pulse” is another startling synth-pop mash-up, and its video premieres today on Best Fit.
Where previous single “Funn” saw Johnny Cash and David Bowie impersonators engaged in an expressive dance-off, “Pulse” sees a lone wolf take to the streets, possessed in his own internalised dance battle. As an irresistible guitar line spirals around heart-popping beats and wispy Middle Eastern hums, our protagonist is confronted by the voices in his head: the girl he wants and the men who try to stop him.
Cash+David again deliver bewildering and impulsive multifaceted music, but they also come up with the goods in a captivating new video.
“Pulse” is released via Cash+David’s own label, +, on 9 June.
