Swedish pop producers CANVAS have unveiled their laid back debut single "You & Me" [Premiere]
Swedish brothers Andreas and Robin Schulz, together known as CANVAS, are sharing "You & Me", their first proper single, on Best Fit.
Despite a background in "hardcore bands, sneakers and skateboards", the aggression in "You & Me" is muted - their punk rock roots are all but invisible here, with the pair opting for luxurious production and slick pop vibes.
"You & Me" blurs the worlds of downtempo dance and sprawling dream-pop. CANVAS employ a Foals-esque keys 'n' clicks intro, before gliding into the stratosphere with complex beats and airy vox from Filip Strand. It's their first official release, and it's a stunningly assured foray into the outer reaches of dance, pop, and ambient. Tired of being bombarded with the indominable size of summer EDM? CANVAS are your remedy.
We've already seen some of what the duo can do with bootleg remixes for Seinabo Sey, Jessie Ware, and Shura.
"You & Me" is out now via HMWL/With Love.
