Broen drink and upload their problems away in the visuals for "No, My God"
With their EP just days away, Oslo-based five piece Broen have unveiled the video for latest track "No, My God".
The genre-mashing Norwegians are a lot of fun and quite the live experience, and debut EP Yoga should be a fine encapsulation of their unclassifiable charm which mixes pop, dance and highlife to great effect.
"No, My God" is the perfect example of this. The song transforms from woozy synthpop to bump-and-grind dancehall thanks to vocalist Marianna Røe's sudden switch into dutty rapping, perfectly mirroring the track's spiral from good times into morning-after hangover remorse and overwhelming anxiety over what might have been uploaded to social media in the mess of drinking and partying.
The video, shot on camera phone in bathrooms across Seville and Oslo, is a reflection of the song. Røe explains “it’s about ignoring your problems, and drinking, partying and instagramming your problems away. Then getting lost in who's right, who's wrong and all the different voices that argue WHICH God could or should help… ‘No, MY God’.”
Yoga will be out 6 May on 0E0E, and watch the video below.
