Watch: Breen - "Make Sense" [Premiere]
Just a couple weeks back we premiered the latest single from fresh-faced London soul man Matt Lamb, also known as Breen. Best Fit is pleased to premiere the visuals for that tune, “Make Sense”, Breen’s first since last summer’s debut EP, Say What You Want.
The video’s nocturnal setting is an ideal pairing with the song’s stark, deep velvet tone. Itchy percussion punctuates the groove just as the sporadic headlights do wee hour darkness, providing just enough agitation to underscore Breen’s professed confusion.
As night turns to dawn and we see him wading into the oncoming tide. Breen deftly builds the emotion to a simmering point with his vocal layering, yet wisely holds the reins sound never allowing it to boil over into a potentially anguished mess.
As yet unsigned, Breen stakes a worthy place amongst today’s rising electro-soul crop, so keep your eyes – and ears – open for more.
