Blondage celebrates her new EP with its infectious title track "I Love Music"
Capping off the release of her fine debut EP by sharing its title track, Danish singer Blondage returns with the infectious pop of "I Love Music", an offering as joyous as its accompanying video.
Following upon a stream of recent fresh hits, Blondage has dropped the title track of her latest EP, "I Love Music", with an accompanying video to boot. The single - an ode to the Danish singer’s unadulterated love of music - is an effervescent, catchy pop offering and slots in nicely alongside its previous releases.
Having embarked on a solo career after years of collaboration as half of duo Rangleklods, Pernille Smith-Silvertsen took on the “Blondage” moniker and has received critical acclaim for a string of singles, most recently electro-pop outing “Over It”. The accompanying video continues to showcase Blondage’s enthusiasm for good old-fashioned fun with an energetic dance routine amongst a troupe of swing dancers, after a somewhat restless and solitary start in a hotel room.
“This was the first time I'd ever tried to shoot on film, which was a whole new experience,” says Smith-Silverstein of the video. “The swing dancers made it absolutely amazing, and I love how the two universes speak together in the video. My scene in the hotel room is a visualization of the process I went through while making this EP, where I had to find the spirit and passion within myself."
Shot on 16mm film and created in collaboration with Smith-Sivertsen's creative partner Zille Bostinius and director Daniel Borgman, the team also worked together on the tongue-in-cheek video for “Over It”. “I am not afraid to show the frustration and uncertainty that comes with pursuing one's dream, and wanted the imagery to reflect the true emotions behind my songs,” she continues.
"Sometimes I just want to escape the world with all its expectations about how to be a good partner, lover, friend, daughter, sister, citizen, employee, whatever. It can feel like a burning string around my neck. To me, music opens a gate to another world which I started escaping into as a teenager,” shares Smith-Silvertsen of the single. “'I Love Music' captures the vibe from the R’n’B I listened to in my teens and it’s an homage to that special thing in your life that allows you to be yourself and feel absolutely free."
