Betsy shows off her distinctive vocal on glory-fuelled track “Waiting”
Welsh up-and-comer Betsy continues her hot streak with another uplifting single.
From growing up in rural Wales, to living out her back-up plan working in high fashion, music is now Betsy’s sole focus and "Waiting" shows her commitment. Her powerful voice is instantly recognisable - comparisons have been made to Cher, Clare Maguire, and Heather Small - but Betsy really does sound like Betsy.
In the music video, Betsy explores the sleepy fictional town of Echo Valley, population 1001, while belting out her latest tune. Betsy explains that "Waiting" "is about that fire and excitement you feel when you meet someone new, fall hook, line and sinker, and it feels like you've been waiting your whole life for them. Hopeless romantic, me!"
The track precedes her forthcoming debut album which promises to explore a wider musical palette than we’ve seen thus far. The mixture of campfire sing-a-alongs from her goose farm days, and the vocal powerhouses of her parents’ record collection, were - and continue to be - part of the driving force behind her music. Now she's out of the caravan in which she worked on a lot of her music, 2017 looks like it may be the year she really gets to shine.
