Ben Hobbs reveals “Wishful Thinking”, a second slice of potent pop
At the back-end of 2015 Ben Hobbs appeared with “Sweet Enough”, a gently euphoric and infectious debut release, immediately showcasing his potent pop potential.
Now, the London singer-songwriter has followed-up the opening effort with an impressive sophomore cut.
“Wishful Thinking” builds on the initial foundations by utilising chunkier, more punchy electronic production to darken the hue whilst maintaining his obvious knack for catching vocal melody. The track's chorus jumps out to nestle comfortably between the ears.
Twitching, FX-heavy guitar punctuation and cascading, booming bass work away beneath Hobbs’ effortlessly passionate vocal, ingredients which all go some way to proving the new alt pop newcomer is worth watching carefully.
